Staying connected with Jupiter, our DIY Tele-presence Robot
With this Covid haunting our social lives it is not always easy to connect with loved ones. This was particularly the case for my two younger children to connect with my two elderly children who stayed in Lyon when we moved to Biel as well as there Abuela living in Southern Spain. The kids were happy to see their family but quickly got bored of the phone leaving it around and who ever was on the video call in the middle of the living room.
That’s when I decided we needed a tele-presence robot. A robot which can be moved around by the people on the phone so they didn’t to count on the kids to do so.
Of course those already exist, but I like to play around with Arduino and friends and decided to look into building one. Well now it is done. I put the code and instructions on GitHub:
